Style is infinite using ECONYL® Revolutionising Sustainable Swim and activewear

From trash to treasure, ECONYL® developed by Italian company Aquafil, is a perfect example of circular fashion. The ECONYL® regeneration system starts with rescuing waste such as fishing nets from our beautiful oceans alongside other nylon waste. The waste is then recovered and delivered to Aquafil’s regeneration plant. Here, through a sophisticated process, these materials are regenerated into ECONYL® yarn, with no compromise on performance or durability, just 100% regenerated nylon.

Swimbarre

For years, Carvico has chosen ECONYL® thread as a premium ingredient for the production of their sustainable Vita fabrics, Carvico Vita and Vita Power (activewear fabrics for muscle compression to aid recovery). They boast exceptional stretch and recovery properties, UV protection, and resistance to chlorine and sunscreen, making them ideal for swim and activewear that combine style with functionality.

In an age where sustainability is no longer a trend but a necessity, international designers have embraced ECONYL® yarns, incorporating them into their collections. Under the leadership of creative director Alessandro Michele, Gucci introduced their first entirely sustainable collection “Gucci Off The Grid” in 2020.  From raw materials to production, to the advertising campaign - the entirely eco-responsible collection aimed to support Gucci’s commitment to circular production. A large part of the collection was made from   ECONYL®, Brands such as Stella McCartney, Prada and Burberry have chosen ECONYL® to prioritise both sustainability and style, demonstrating a commitment to reducing environmental impact.

While big-name designers have paved the way for sustainable swimwear, small brands are making waves in the industry also. Enter Swimbarre, a small yet impactful brand on a mission to redefine swimwear with elegance, environmental consciousness, and empowerment. At the heart of Swimbarre's sustainability lies ECONYL®, the revolutionary yarn that is transforming oceans into elegant swimwear. Swimbarre's commitment to sustainability is evident in its choice of materials, with each piece crafted from Italian Carvico Vita fabrics made from ECONYL® yarn. Swimbarre creates swimwear that not only looks good but also minimises the  environmental impact on the planet. With each purchase, customers become ambassadors for change, spreading awareness and driving demand for sustainable fashion alternatives.

ECONYL®

ECONYL® regenerated nylon is a product that can help close the loop. Made from waste, it's infinitely recyclable and can unleash infinite possibilities for designers, makers, and consumers.

In a world where oceans are threatened and fashion is often synonymous with waste, ECONYL® represents hope, proving that beauty can emerge from the depths of our oceans.
