Portal: M Empowers Everyone to Become a Creator Groundbreaking Digital Fashion Platform Debuts at London Fashion Week SS25

London Fashion Week SS25- Portal: M, the Taiwan-based fashion technology platform, made a  significant impact, transforming Protein Studios in Shoreditch into a grocery store-themed wonderland.  The virtual fashion exhibition offered a fresh take on fashion technology, blending the digital and physical  worlds to create a truly immersive experience.

Supported by Taiwan's leading garment manufacturer Makalot and in collaboration with global technology  leader ViewSonic, Portal: M redefined the traditional runway experience. Guests entered a digitally  interactive space to engage with fashion elements as if shopping in a grocery store of Virtual Reality  possibilities.

Portal: M's platform is at the forefront of democratising the fashion design process. Similar to how  Minecraft empowers its users, its digital services allow anyone to become a designer, providing all the  necessary tools to bring their creative visions to life. Whether it's selecting digitised YKK zippers or  choosing from a wide array of fabrics, users can "shop" for design elements within the platform,  seamlessly integrating them into their own creations and making high-level fashion design accessible to  all. The showcase underscored this capability, with participants invited to experience firsthand how they  could curate and assemble their own creations using Portal: M's digital tools.

Redefining Fashion with 3D-Driven Experiences

A recent YouGov poll revealed that 65% of British consumers either shop for clothing primarily online  (37%) or split their shopping between online and offline (28%). Eurostat also reported that apparel was  the most purchased item online in Europe in 2023. As the dominance of online fashion shopping grows,  platforms like Portal: M have greater opportunities to innovate and reduce the industry’s impact on the  planet. From reducing waste with the need for designers to produce physical samples to consumer  interaction and virtual try-ons, digital fashion can play a significant part in sustainable innovation.

Alan Liu, Co-Founder of Portal: M said: “Digital fashion is reshaping the industry, offering designers and  brands new creative possibilities and providing consumers with immersive, sustainable experiences.  Younger generations, in particular, are driving this change, seeking personalised and engaging  experiences. Several Western fashion houses have already embraced platforms like Portal: M to deliver  hyper-realistic 3D garments for virtual environments, standing out and deepening customer engagement.  This digital fashion movement is more than a trend; it’s transforming the industry. By embracing digital  innovation, designers can explore new creative frontiers and offer consumers previously unimaginable  experiences. We’re excited to showcase how Portal: M can help brands shine with 3D innovation at  London Fashion Week.”

The exhibition featured digital works from different creators, including Naya Rea, Ray ChuPROJECTbyH., AutoNarrative by Eve Lin and the work of graduates from the prestigious Shih Chien  University. These were presented through ViewSonic’s advanced displays and projectors, highlighting the  platform’s potential to expand creative possibilities in the fashion industry.

Enhancing the immersive experience, the event also included a curated auditory component by Cloudy  Ku, a Taiwan-born, Naarm/Melbourne-based DJ known for her unique blend of techno, trance, and  experimental sounds.

Portal:M is at the cutting edge of fashion technology, offering a platform that integrates digital innovation  with creative freedom, reducing barriers to fashion design.
