Popular engagement ring styles in 2023
Has your partner asked you what ring styles you like? Or are you doing some research into the perfect design for your significant other? Then we’re here to help!
With so many beautiful engagement rings on the market, it can be difficult to know where to start. That’s why we’ve put together this list of popular engagement ring trends in 2023 to give you some inspiration.
Two stone styles
What better way to symbolise your partnership than with a two-stone ring? Often referred to as “toi et moi”, which means “you and me” in French, this engagement ring style has become an increasingly popular way to showcase commitment. Typically, toi et moi rings feature two stones sat side by side, representing the two people in the partnership coming together as one through marriage.
They’re available in various designs, either with two stones of the same cut (such as two round diamonds) or contrasting cuts (such as pear and emerald cut stones). Celebrities such as Megan Fox, Ariana Grande and Emily Ratajkowski all sport sparkling two-stone engagement rings – showcasing how on-trend these rings are right now.
Sparkling sapphires
Princess Diana’s sparkling sapphire and diamond ring is arguably one of the most famous engagement rings in the world – hitting headlines when she and Charles announced their engagement in February 1981. It now belongs to the Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, who said it’s “an honour to be able to wear it”.
Sapphire engagement rings remain hugely popular today – with many choosing to opt for the classic style of an oval sapphire surrounded by solitaire diamonds. If sapphires aren’t your thing, you could opt for a different coloured stone instead, such as rubies or emeralds that have a meaning to your partner.
Oval shapes
Oval-cut diamonds rings are hugely on trend at the moment, with many choosing this style as it offers more diamond for the dollar. “Oval cut diamonds can be 10-30% cheaper than rounds” yet look impressive and seriously sparkly on the finger.
They often appear bigger than their round counterparts, even if they’re the same carat weight, simply because of their shape. This makes them appeal to those who think “bigger is better” when it comes to engagement rings. Kourtney Kardashian, Ariana Grande and Hailey Bieber all sport oval-cut diamond rings.
Floral patterns
Looking for something that stands out from the crowd? Do you have a floral nickname for your significant other, or do they simply love blooms? Then you could go for a floral engagement ring design.
These nature-inspired styles often come in the form of cluster rings, with several dazzling gemstones catching the light to create impressive sparkle. For this reason, they are often more affordable than solitaire rings as you’re not forking out for one large stone. Katy Perry wears a beautiful flower-shaped engagement ring, featuring a pink centre stone surrounded by diamonds.
No matter what your personal preference is, there are plenty of beautiful on-trend diamond rings to choose from in 2023. Which style catches your eye?
